The author describes the particularities of the reproduction models of the communist elite in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, focusing in particular to Romania. Throughout the study the fact that the above mentioned particularities can be attributed to the differences between the political actors is emphasized. The Romanian situation is compared to that in Hungary, where, similarly to Romania, the bureaucrats of the past regime succeeded to power even after the change of regimes, despite the fact that there are considerable differences in the development of the two countries.

The author examines the development regions in Romania, the way these regions cover the problems of those living within their limits. Besides describing the current ones, the study tries to give advice for delimiting new regions. It states that within the current regions, inequalities are considerable: the territories falling within particular regions are not homogenous from many points of view. Even though there is no prescribed model in the EU for delimiting regions, the local, economic and social problems of certain territories have to be taken into account when setting the limits of such NUTS regions of various levels, in order for them to be homogenous.

The environment is closely connected to the lifestyle. The way people decorate/furnish their homes is the most tangible aspect of their lifestyles; the elements of the furniture, pieces of furniture talk about the life of those living around them, about the models and norms that shape their lives.
The purpose of the study is to describe the patterns of furnishing of the young couples living in Kolozsvár and to identify the models that are characteristic of this population.

When examining the informal financial/economic strategies in Romania and more precisely in Kolozsvár, besides the description of observable activities we have to add another method of analysis: an approach that tries to map out strategies of particular groups and not vice versa – describing those active in the informal sphere along their specific activities. In our case the particular group to be described is the large student body in Kolozsvár, which besides generating economic sectors by its existence, has also developed specific financial strategies.

The study is focused on the relationship between the educational system and the labor-market in the context of educational policy and structural changes that took place after the change of regimes. More precisely, the position on the labor market of young people who are just starting out on their carreers is going to be analyzed: the position of those, who have recently finished their studies at the Babeş-Bolyai University.
