Teaching Hungarian to native speakers in Romania is not without problems, similarly to the situation in Hungary. There are many language-related issues in this area. The problem which I deal with is highly relevant especially for education and linguistics. The paper presents the findings of a study of language discrimination in four countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania), highlighting the results of Transylvania. The study focused on how prejudiced the practicing teachers and teacher trainees of Hungarian language in Romania are linguistically towards their students. Moreover, the data show to what extent they discriminate on a linguistic basis and how significant this phenomenon is in comparison to the results of the Hungarian language teachers of other countries.
