The study highlights some cultural political statements of the "Hungarian cultural pope" of the 1960's, like the question of loyalty and sovereignty, his perception of history as a transient, and the emphasis on the importance of debate (as a "democratic act") in a time when the Hungarian artists felt something like a breeze of freedom in the cultural politics.
